B+ Heroes
I had the pleasure of joining Noxah Palomo’s family for “Noxah Night at the Blue Rocks” on Friday. Noxah was a brave young man who died in Oct. 2010 following a battle with leukemia. Noxah’s family and friends organized a bone marrow drive at the game. I can’t think of a better way to honor Noxah than by finding a donor to help save someone else’s life. As some of you may recall, I jumped out of an airplane last September to honor Noxah and commemorate his jump one year before.
Yesterday, Ali and I headed over the border into PA to join B+ Hero, Aryn Strigle, for her annual picnic fundraiser. It’s always great to see Aryn and her family. You’ve just got to smile when you see her picture below.

B+ Foundation Dinner – Sept 24, 2012 – DuPont Country Club
In about 6 weeks, we will hold our “6th Annual B+ Golf Outing, Dinner, & Auction” at the DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, DE.
You do NOT need to be a golfer to join us for the dinner and auction. While the golfers will have a great time during the day and will be with us for dinner, we’re trying to get a big crowd out for the dinner and auction as well. We will have a great meal, great auction items, and a very special guest speaker, B+ Hero, Miranda Ram-Nolte. I can guarantee you that you won’t be disappointed.
So, if you’re not a golfer or you don’t have the time to join us for the whole day, please join us for the dinner & auction. More information can be found at www.BePositive.org or being clicking on the link below.

Bring a B+ Event to Your School
Regardless of where you live, we want to bring a B+ event to your school. While it is certainly important to raise money to assist families of kids with cancer and fund research, we feel that it is equally important to generous awareness about these terrible childhood cancers. Did you know that 46 kids will be diagnosed tomorrow? Did you know that only one new childhood cancer drug has been approved by the FDA in the last 20 years? Did you know that less than 4% of our federal cancer research budget goes to support childhood cancer research?
As the school year kicks off soon, B+ Program Directors, Nadine Mitchell and Carly Bergstein, are hard at work lining up events at schools around the country. Most, but not all, of our events have been on college campuses. This year, we’re also rolling out our successful dance marathon programs at high schools. Nadine already has about 4-5 DE high schools interested.
Whether it is a dance marathon at a college or high school or some other event at a grade school, it’s not nearly as much work as you might think. We can help you make it successful. We’re getting kind of good at this. 🙂
Please contact Nadine (Nadine@BePositive.org ) or Carly (Carly@BePositive.org ) even if you’re mildly interested. And, parents, please spread the word on this to your kids heading off to college.

A Note for You
I’d like to share with you a note from Jennifer, Mom of 10 year old, Joshua. Joshua is battling leukemia and your support has enabled us to help this family at this very difficult time.
“We could not have been more blessed to receive such a generous donation. Our family, especially Joshua, has been through so much. Sometimes we feel like there will be no light at the end of the tunnel, or that there is no hope whatever we do…until we are blessed with support from you. Thank you again for your generosity and blessings.”
While our families desperately need the financial support, one of the consistent themes in their notes to us is one of thanks for giving them HOPE. To know that someone who has never met them cares about their child means so much to them. We show them that they are not alone. Thank you for making this possible.
Live Like Andrew — make it a great week. It’s up to you!
B+
