L’shanah tovah!  (sorry I’m a little late.)

~~~~~~~~~~
On Monday, we held our “5th Annual B+ Foundation Golf Outing, Dinner, & Auction” at the DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, DE.  Our guest speaker was Dan Feltwell, Dad of a brave little B+ Hero named Danny Feltwell.  Dan was so inspiring!  Please stop by Danny’s site and show your support for Dan and Danny.   http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/danieltimothyfeltwell
The weather was good and I think everyone had a good time while increasing awareness and money for our battle against childhood cancers.  As everyone who has ever planned an event knows, events are labor-intensive but they’re great not only for raising money, but also for raising much-needed awareness in the community.
Whether you live in our local PA/DE/NJ/MD area or somewhere far away, we invite and encourage you to organize a B+ Foundation fundraiser.  It could be a 5k, a golf outing, a “Polar Bear Plunge” or a million different ideas.  It’s limited only by your creativity.  We can help guide you through the planning process by sharing lessons that we have learned.  Please contact Katie Wilson at katie@BePositive.org.   We have now helped families in 48 states (just waiting on WY and So. Dakota) and we will write checks totalling over $500,000 this year alone in our Family Assistance Program.  We need to spread our awareness and fundraising wings across the country.  Please help us bring a B+ event to your community.  Thanks.
As school is now back in full swing, I came across a picture of Andrew that I thought you might like.  The summer before Freshman year in high school, Andrew’s last full summer with us in person, we let Andrew grow his hair long since we knew he would need to get it cut before starting at Salesianum.  As I look at the picture, I couldn’t believe how long it was.  Sorry for the graininess of the picture.
Featured Family of the Week
I would like to share with you part of a beautiful note from a family that your Foundation has helped.
“We just wanted to take the time to thank you for your generous help.  You will never know how much your gift of $750 has meant to our family.  By replacing one two-week paycheck, my husband was able to take take a leave of absence from his job.  He was able to spend the last few weeks of our daughter’s life at home with her.  We will never forget or be able to repay you for this wonderful gift.
Thank you so much for your help and for allowing our family to make a few more precious memories before our sweet angel was called Home.  May God bless you all.”
To McKenzie’s family, it was the least we can do.  God bless you.
Live Like Andrew – MAKE it a great week.
B+
