Twenty one years ago today, my life was so changed for the better as I gained the best title in the world – “Dad”.

At Mountainside Hospital in Glen Ridge, NJ, my precious Ali was born.  She surprised us by coming 3 weeks early and I think that was the last time she was ahead of schedule on anything.  (Sorry, Ali — I couldn’t resist.)

Ali was, and is, a true gift from God to Chris, Andrew and me.   At 24 weeks into the pregnancy, there were a lot of concerns about Ali’s viability and Chris was put on bed rest.  Thankfully, Ali continued to develop and was born at  37 weeks.  When Ali was two, there were concerns that she might have leukemia.  How ironic, huh?  We went through two operations up in North Jersey before she was 3 years old.  We moved back ‘home’ to DE in 1993 and she’s been healthy ever since.

Ali has developed into an amazing sister, a wonderful daughter, a best friend, and a fine young lady who has made a big difference in the world in 21 years.  We are so blessed!

Happy 21st birthday, Princess!  You’ll ALWAYS be my little girl.

So proud to be,

“Ali’s Dad”
