While extremely hot, last Saturday was very exciting as we hosted “The B+ Foundation Heroes 200” Grand-Am car race at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, NJ.  Many of our B+ Heroes got a chance to take a nice, fast pace car ride around the track, a few got to yell the command “Drivers, Start Your Engines”, B+ Hero Drew Koenig waved the Green Flag, everyone hung out with our drivers Al and Hugh, and the kids (and some of the Moms!!!  🙂  ) got to meet TV/movie star/race car driver, Patrick Dempsey.

Thank you, Al Carter and Hugh Plumb, for putting smiles on our B+ Heroes’ faces!!!

As a reminder, here’s a great opportunity to help fight childhood cancer and enjoy a nice night of dinner theatre.

Once again this year, the New Candlelight Theatre (NCT) in Arden, DE has generously offered to raise funds for The B+ Foundation during their run of “Annie” this summer (through Aug. 21st).  Five dollars from every ticket purchased will be donated to us.  Please make sure you mention “B+ Foundation” on the phone or online.  Additionally, NCT will be hosting us B+ Heroes on Thursday, August 18th.  Please come out and watch GREAT dinner theatre and support The B+ Foundation.  For more information, please visit  http://www.nctstage.org/ .  Thanks NCT!

Wait til you hear this one!

University of Chicago students & Sig Ep brothers, Alex Read and Chris Kingdon, and their friend, Parker, just completed their climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro.  Their climb was a fundraiser for The B+ Foundation.  If you’d like to show your appreciation and support for these guys, please visit:

I bristle when I hear people say things like “kids these days…blah, blah, blah”.  Our Foundation would not be ANYWHERE close to where we are today if it wasn’t for the support of young people.  We’ve got a bright future!

Want to hear about a creative fundraising idea?

Gerri Taylor, one of our most faithful supporters from the FC Delco soccer family, is our ‘Brownie Queen”.  She bakes batches and batches of brownies throughout the school year and sells them at Our Lady of Good Counsel School in Southampton, PA.  Over the course of this past school year, Gerri raised $600 for The B+ Foundation.  Unless you read the Family Assistance Applications that we see every day, you can’t imagine how much of an impact this brownie money will have on a family of a child battling cancer.  Thanks, Gerri, for your generosity, hard work, and most especially, your creativity.
