You've Got to Read about P.S. 206
"Kids Helping Kids"!!!
A few weeks ago, Carly (B+ Foundation Program Director in NYC) had the opportunity to speak with two 4th grade classes at P.S. 206 in East Harlem, NY. We thank Carly's friends, Lindsay Rich and Lindsay Bank, two 4th grade teachers there, for inviting B+ into your classrooms. P.S. 206 is a "Title 1" school, which means that all kids are at or below the poverty line and receive free lunches. Regardless, Lindsay R. and Lindsay B. wanted to teach their kids about helping other kids and the kids held a "Penny War" leading up to the end of the school year. Would you believe that these kids raised $110.00 for The B+ Foundation for our efforts to help fight kids cancer! How special is that!!!
And, when Carly explained to them how little federal money is spent on childhood cancer research, one kid said "I thought parents were supposed to have kids to continue to raise and if we are not helping the kids there will be no future of people."
Well said!
Thank you SO much, P.S. 206, for your kindness, generosity, example, and for energizing us.

Good luck to Nadine Mitchell
B+ Foundation Program Director (Delaware)Nadine has been a tremendously loyal and dedicated member of our B+ team over the past two years. It's hard to find someone who cares about our kids more than Nadine. I don't think she ever expected to learn so much about such terrible diseases when she joined us in June, 2012. Nadine has had the misfortune of sitting 10 feet away from me and she still smiles. Unfortunately, Nadine has seen the tragic impact of childhood cancer both in person and on a weekly basis as she and I review Family Assistance applications.
Nadine will be starting a new position at Nemours/A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children (a place she knows all too well) on July 14th and we wish her nothing but the best of success and happiness in her new position. I know that Nadine will be a tremendous asset to AI DuPont Hospital.
Nadine, good luck and thank you VERY much for your dedication to my son and The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation!
Best of Delaware Party
Calling all volunteers (over the age of 21)! Delaware Today magazine has honored us by selecting us as one of their two beneficiaries for this year's Best of Delaware Party. We need to provide 20 volunteers to help with registration, etc. The event is Thurs. July 17th from 6-9pm. The event is casual and, of course, there is no cost for our volunteers. Can you spare 3 hours to help us on July 17th at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington?
If so, please email me at Joe@LiveLikeAndrew.org.
Thanks.
New B+ Hero
I'd like you to meet our newest B+ Hero, Isaac Schneider. Isaac is a handsome little dude who is being treated at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.It would be really great if you could take a minute or two (it won't take more) to leave Isaac and his family a nice message on his website below. Please keep the Schneiders in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks.
