Thurs. Sept. 6th

Thank You

On behalf of my “Family of Four”, please accept our sincerest appreciation on all of the kind notes and messages over this past weekend.  I can’t really explain it, but Monday Sept 3rd was so, so difficult.  While this was the 6th birthday of Andrew’s that we’ve observed since he went to Heaven, this 20th birthday was SO hard.  I don’t know why.  Sometimes, it just doesn’t feel like it gets any easier.  But, your kindness means a lot to us.  Thank you.

Tom Coughlin – My Hero!

I gave a talk yesterday in NYC at a company and I said “I’ll bet you won’t see any gold ribbons, gold whistles, or gold gloves tonight during the NFL season opener between the Giants and the Cowboys”.  It is, after all, National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

I am SO excited to say that I was WRONG!!!  As a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan, I can’t say that I’ve cheered too many things associated with the NY Giants 🙂 but last night I did.  Congratulations and THANK YOU to Giants Head Coach, Tom Coughlin, for wearing a gold ribbon pin to bring awareness to our cause.  Coach Coughlin knows our world of childhood cancer dating back to the diagnosis of one of his players back in his Boston College days.  The experience so moved him that he established his own foundation, The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund, to help fight childhood cancer.  They’re doing great work.  Thank you very much, Coach Coughlin, for using your platform to help our cause.
