Wed. Sept. 12th
Last Saturday was a real thrill with B+ Hero, Joey Borowski, his sister (Casey), and parents (Theri and Marty) being recognized on the field during the University of Delaware football game. At each game, a different B+ Hero family is recognized. It gave me goose bumps as we walked in front of the student section and the students were yelling Joey’s name and clapping wildly. This is all part of “B+ Score for a Cure” at UD football games where a video billboard goes up on the Jumbotron everytime a touchdown is scored. This program is made possible by a generous donation from Astra Zeneca. This Saturday, The B+ Foundation is the “Game Day Sponsor” as well and several B+ Heroes will be on the field for pre-game activities. I love putting these great families on the pedestal they deserve while increasing awareness for childhood cancers.
Unfortunately, we learned that 48 hours after the football game, Joey and his family learned that his cancer has come back. Joey battled through 3 1/2 years of treatment and was seemingly free of the disease for 14 wonderful months. Joey had his new central line put in today and will be starting chemo again shortly. He’s a fighter. Please keep Joey and his family in your prayers!

Please keep all of our brave kids in your prayers.
