5 Years!!!

First, and most importantly, thank you all very much for the kind notes, emails, Caringbridge posts, and FaceBook posts in support of us this past weekend.  It’s just hard to believe that our boy, Andrew, has been gone from this world for 5 whole years!  Life will never be the same without Andrew here, but your love and support has left us very humbled and appreciative.  You can’t imagine how much your support means to us.  Thank you very, very much.

Teen Sells Ties to Honor Savannah and Fight Childhood Cancers

Salesianum rising Senior, Chase Cowan, recently presented me with a check for $9,000!!!  Chase designed neckties to honor our friend and B+ Hero, Savannah Pauley, who left this world at the age of 10.  Chase literally sold ties out of the trunk of his car, with 750 ties being sold in all.  What a great kid and what a great message to send to others, young and old.  Pictured below is me, Carey Pauley (Savannah’s Mom), Chase, and Savannah (pictured in the background).

B+ Night at the Blue Rocks

Please come out and join us on Fri. Aug. 17th for “B+ Night at the Blue Rocks”.  We will have a group of B+ Heroes introduced on the field prior to the game and the players will wear ‘throwback’ jerseys with the B+ logo on their sleeve.  The uniform jerseys will be auctioned off with proceeds going to our Foundation.  If you’d like to join us, please fill out the order form from the link below.  Hope to see you on Aug. 17th.  Please wear your B+ gear to show support for our kids.  Thanks.

The Philadelphia Union Honors Andrew McDonough

Major League Soccer’s Philadelphia Union will honor Andrew and The B+ Foundation tomorrow evening prior to the start of their match against Aston Villa (England).  We will represent Andrew as he is recognized as the “Hometown Hero”.  As most of you know, Andrew was an elite level soccer player and playing professionally was definitely a goal of his.  This isn’t how I expected to see my son recognized at a professional soccer stadium, but it is still a very kind gesture from the team and we are very appreciative.  Thank you, Charlie Dodds and Rob Smith, for making this a reality.  Two Philadelphia Union players have a connection to Andrew.  Jimmy McLaughlin was a friend and FC Delco teammate of Andrew’s and he now wears #20 with the Union as a way to honor his buddy.  Former US National Team and World Cup player, Chris Albright, followed our journey in the hospital and even had his brother deliver an autographed US jersey to Andrew in the hospital.  It will be great to see both Jimmy and Chris.

Thank you, again, for your kindness as we struggled through the 5th anniversary since we last saw our boy.

Live Like Andrew!

B+

Proud to be,

Ali & Andrew’s Dad
