DelVal BMW Club Supports The B+ Foundation
Thank you to the DelVal BMW Car Club for joining forces with The B+ Foundation to fight childhood cancers. At their annual meeting last week, the Club presented me with a check for $10,000 to help families of kids battling cancers. Following the check presentation, the members got a chance to hear from professional BMW race car drivers Al Carter and Hugh Plumb. Thank you all for your support.

Social Worker Weighs In on The B+ Foundation
On our Family Assistance Program, we couldn’t do what we do without the partnership of social workers around the country. They are our eyes and ears on the ground in dozens and dozens of hospitals. In the last year alone, we’ve worked with over 350 social workers to assist families of kids with cancer nationwide. So, it was particularly gratifying to receive a note from a social worker in Nebraska. She wrote:
“I am writing to you simply to say thank you for your enormous generosity toward families experiencing financial hardship during such a difficult time in their lives.
Because of what you do, parents are able to focus on what is so crucial – helping their child focus on fighting these horrific cancers. You have taken life’s most piercing heartache and turned it into a living legacy – a tribut to Andrew and his “do good” philosophy. He must be very proud.
I know there may be many times you do not receive the thank you you deserve. Please know how much it means to those you assist.”
It really means a lot to get this note. Thank you!

Time to Wake Up, America!
As I was heading up to the BMW talk the other night, I pulled out onto the road behind a hearse. I didn’t really think much of it as my mind was on the talk that I was about to give. That was
until the hearse pulled into A.I. duPont Hospital for Children! Seeing that sight literally made my stomach sick. I don’t ever want to see a hearse pull into a children’s hospital. It sickens me to think that a hearse pulled into that same hospital on July 14, 2007. When are we going to find this totally unacceptable?
As you count your blessings on Thanksgiving, please keep our kids in your thoughts and prayers. Please especially keep B+ Hero, Joey B, in mind as he finishes full body radiation this week in preparation for his bone marrow transplant next week.
Live Like Andrew!
