The B+ Blog
Check out our blog to get monthly updates about all things B+ from our President and Co-Founder, Joe McDonough.

Meet B+ Hero Thomas
I’d like you to meet 5 year old, Thomas. Thomas has 5 siblings and he is currently battling Neuroblastoma. He wants to be a cowboy and he dreams of “living inside of the Candyland board!”

We Need You!
As we experience a very aggressive second spike of coronavirus, I just hold my breath for our families. As bad as it is to be told that your child has cancer, can you imagine being told that your child has cancer DURING A PANDEMIC?!!!
Progress and Legacies
While we tend to focus on the more relatable stories of assisting families of kids with cancer with critical medical and living expenses, I get really excited about our research grants as well. Would you believe that The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation has awarded 150 research grants to leading researchers globally since our inception?

Nothing is Stopping Us!
There was a great article in Women’s Health magazine this week about the masks that doctors wear when they’re off the clock. CHECK IT OUT…and make sure you see the #1 mask listed!

9/11 - A Meaningful Day for Many Reasons
As we navigate our new abnormal with COVID, childhood cancer doesn’t take a break. Today, I signed 68 family assistance checks for families of kids with cancer. Last week, it was over 100!

We Should Be Running Tonight!
We wish we could be together today for the 14th Annual B+ 5k BUT we hope you will join us on our new rescheduled date.
You Make Such a Difference!
I hope everyone in B+ Nation is staying safe and doing well. I thank you for your continued support because, now more than ever, our families of kids need you.
Our New World
I hope everyone is practicing social distancing, listening to Dr. Fauci, and staying safe. I'd like to share with you a family that you, B+ Nation, assisted this past week.

#WinToday - A Tribute to B+ Hero Blair Henry
Over the past year, I’ve had the true privilege of getting to know the Henry family, and most especially B+ Hero Blair. Ironically, several years ago, I offered her Dad a job with The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation.
(Safely) Enjoy Your Holiday!
The Mayor of Wilmington (DE) has cancelled all large gatherings in the City of Wilmington through the month of June, That means that our 14th Annual B+ 5k is postponed.
COVID-19 Update
It's just amazing how much our world has changed in the last 2 weeks since I last posted. Our world seems to change SO much each day. PLEASE take COVID-19 seriously, regardless of your age or pre-existing health status.
IMPORTANT Message!
I am SO sorry for the people who have died from coronavirus (COVID19)! It is a tremendous tragedy. I will keep those sick from COVID 19 in my prayers. Please, everyone, be sensible and take precautions.
LOTS Going On!
February & March are the craziest months of the year here at The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation. So many of our hard-working, dedicated student partners are holding their events or coming down the homestretch to their events.
International Childhood Cancer Research Collaboration
When Chris, Ali, and I started The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, it was our steadfast desire - demand actually - that any researchers that we support must share the learnings from their work.

Research, Refunds, & Running!
While it is certainly much more complicated than discussing family assistance stories, I really get excited (and I hope you do as well) with the investments that we make in cutting-edge childhood cancer research.

Great Progress in 2019!
This B+ Hero's face says it all. We're making progress for our brave bosses - the innocent kids battling cancer. But, we're not done.

Holidays in the Childhood Cancer World
It's been a busy month of December! Thank you all for kicking the month off so strongly with #GivingTuesday. We raised almost $100,000! That money is very much needed and goes out the door very fast.
Counting our Blessings
During this week of Thanksgiving, I'm tremendously thankful that most of our children survive cancer. This is largely due to the commitment and investment in research that has dramatically increased survival rates.
