International Childhood Cancer Research Collaboration
When Chris, Ali, and I started The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, it was our steadfast desire - demand actually - that any researchers that we support must share the learnings from their work.
Research, Refunds, & Running!
While it is certainly much more complicated than discussing family assistance stories, I really get excited (and I hope you do as well) with the investments that we make in cutting-edge childhood cancer research.
Great Progress in 2019!
This B+ Hero's face says it all. We're making progress for our brave bosses - the innocent kids battling cancer. But, we're not done.
Holidays in the Childhood Cancer World
It's been a busy month of December! Thank you all for kicking the month off so strongly with #GivingTuesday. We raised almost $100,000! That money is very much needed and goes out the door very fast.
Counting our Blessings
During this week of Thanksgiving, I'm tremendously thankful that most of our children survive cancer. This is largely due to the commitment and investment in research that has dramatically increased survival rates.
Vincristine Update & Congratulations Ali!
Have you heard about the vincristine shortage? Vincristine is a drug used to treat several types of #ChildhoodCancer including leukemias and lymphomas.
Remembering Troy
Yesterday we celebrated the life of Troy Haynes, Jr. Troy reminded me a lot of my son, Andrew.
All Kinds of Good News!
Thank you all for your kind words of support on Andrew's birthday. It really means a lot to us. We got through it...together.
Happy Birthday Andrew!!!
September 3, 1992 was one of the happiest days of my life. Our family was complete with the birth of Andrew John McDonough in Montclair, NJ. He was an incredibly beautiful and very chubby baby.
Important Upcoming Events
Next Tuesday is my son's 27th birthday. B+ Nation will strive to raise #27kInADay in honor of Andrew's birthday!
Exciting Research Update!
Something for everybody...some people like chocolate ice cream, some people vanilla. Some people only want to read about family assistance, and some people are only concerned with research.

Changing the World in Andrew's Name
Well, July is just about over. And, as much as I like the summer, July is always a tough month for my family and me since July 14th is the anniversary of Andrew's passing. T
Missing Our Boy!
Oh, how I miss my buddy! I don't know whether to say that on this day 12 years ago, "cancer stole my 14 year old son" or "Andrew went to Heaven".
A Special Gift at the B+ 5k
The 13th Annual B+ 5k was a HUGE success last Wednesday night. The forecast did not look good, but we didn't have one drop of rain.
B+ Hero Troy, Miss Jetset, & The Starboard
I ask for your prayers today for a really great young man named Troy Haynes. Troy is a senior in high school, 4 year starter as quarterback on his high school football team, 2-time state champion, and such a tremendously humble and respectful young man.
Delaware Senate Passes HB 23!
Thanks to the efforts of former Charter School of Wilmington student Minnie Proud initiating a bill (HB 23) with Kim Williams State Representative, 19th District, I had the privilege of speaking to the Delaware General Assembly about childhood cancer, The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, and my son, Andrew.
"Kids" of All Ages Making a Difference!
The New York City B+ Chapter of young professionals held their 5th Annual Gala on Saturday night. What an amazing night. Once again, it was SOLD OUT with 400 people in attendance.
Research Update & B+ 5k
While most people like to hear the heartwarming family assistance stories that we are able to share - and for good reason - I get really geeked up about the research that The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation is funding as well.
